Governor Cuomo has just announced the names of 22 new entries onto the New York State Register of Historic Places.  This certification will allow recognition of the historic legacy of these places and allow for applications of certain historic financial grants to be made to preserve them.

Among the list is the 1929 Maxbilt Theatre. It was later called the Onteora Theater and was built by Max Silberman. The 600-seat is still standing on Main Street in Fleischmanns, N.Y. (Delaware County).  It has just recently been bought by two gentlemen from New York City who hope to renovate the grand movie house and turn it into a dinner theatre.

Here is what the interior of the theater looks like today.  Good luck...we think it will be beautiful!
