On Tuesday February 21st, 2017 members of the City of Oneonta Police Department Detective Division arrested two 17 year old males. The arrests were made subsequent to an ongoing investigation into an armed robbery complaint filed with the City of Oneonta Police Department on December 2nd, 2016. The following individuals were arrested;

• KOBE P. KIMBLE,17 years of age, Oneonta, NY
• GABRIEL L. PEREZ,17years of age, Oneonta NY

For the felonies of; Robbery in the first degree, Class B Felony and Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, Class E Felony. Kobe P. Kimble was also charged with the class A misdemeanors of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree, Menacing in the second degree and Petit Larceny. Gabriel L. Perez was also charged with the class A misdemeanor of Petit Larceny and the violation of Harassment in the second degree.

The arrest of Mr. Kimble and Mr. Perez are the result of an investigation opened on December 2nd, 2016 into the armed robbery of a 19 year old SUNY Oneonta Student from Brookhaven, NY. It is alleged that the suspects, during the commission of the robbery, knocked the victim to the ground, displayed a knife and forced the victim to turn over property. The suspects may have been accompanied by up to four or five additional juvenile males.

The investigation was facilitated by anonymous neighborhood information that resulted in the identification of potential witnesses by uniformed members of the Oneonta Police Department. The uniformed patrol was able to identify Mr. Kimble and Mr. Perez as persons of interest to the Oneonta Police Detective Division who, through investigation, were able to arrest the accused.

This case will remain open as additional charges may be advised. Both Mr. Kimble and Mr. Perez were arraigned in front of Oneonta City Court Judge Hon. Lucy P. Bernier and held on $15,000/30,000 bail/bond and remanded to the Otsego County Sheriff.
