Delaware County #1 in New York State Gun Deaths

A report released by a coalition of law enforcement officials, public health experts and elected officials puts Delaware County at number one for the amount of gun-related deaths in New York. The study from the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence measured the rates of gun-related deaths, suicide, and homicide in each of New York’s 62 counties between 2012 and 2016. Delaware County had a gun death rate of 13.35 per 100,000 residents and also topped the list for gun-related suicide deaths.
