The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office announced it is taking action in the wake of last week’s Florida school shooting and a number of copycat threats at schools both in and around Delaware County. According to a memo from Sheriff Craig DuMond, the department is actively utilizing its pre-existing School Sub-Station Program by having a Deputy increase their presence at schools and check in with staff to make sure all is going smoothly. DuMond also called for adding a dedicated school resource officer to each of the school district’s 14 buildings.
