Governor Andrew Cuomo signed legislation to move up the start date for rideshare services Uber and Lyft to June 29 ensuring the service will be running in time for Independence Day. State Senator James L. Seward was the co-prime sponsor of the legislation says giving ride-sharing companies the green light 10 days early in time for the Fourth of July weekend, when tourism traffic and holiday celebrations will be at their peak, could be a true lifesaver. Seward was instrumental in getting ridesharing operational outside of New York City.
