Every year the pretty little village of Stamford in Delaware County adorns their very long main street with fanciful frightful scarecrows sticking up from the large flower planters along the street.  The Scarecrow Festival has been going on for as long as I can remember.

The village, once known as "The Queen of the Catskills," takes on a whimsical autumn-like patina with the addition of these smile-inducing "visitors" each year.  I counted at least 50 scarecrows as I drove through town.  Here are some of them!
