An Otsego County fire company is sharing in a half million dollars in federal funding from the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

U.S. Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer announced the Fly Creek Volunteer Fire Company is awarded just over $57,000 to purchase self-contained breathing apparatus gear. Fire companies in Broome and Steuben Counties were awarded grants from the program.
