A Delaware County man was jailed on $1,000 bond for firing a rifle at a neighbor’s home. According to New York State Police, Vernon VanValkenburg of Masonville opened fired on June 17th in the direction of a home on Finnerty Road but didn’t disclose what led up to him shooting at the house. No one was hurt and there were no reports of damage. An investigation revealed VanValkenburg illegally possessed the rifle because he is a convicted felon.
