New York’s maple industry hit a 74-year record in 2018 with the production of 806,000 gallons of maple syrup. According to Governor Cuomo’s office the industry grew by nearly 50 percent in the last five years and continues to maintain the state’s standing as the second leading producer of fresh maple syrup in the nation. This year there will be a Maple Day at the New York State Fair on Monday, August 27 with maple products that can be sampled across the fairgrounds.
