The Gardiner Place Historic Festival will take place on Saturday, June 14 (Flag Day) from 10 am till 2 pm in Walton.

The Walton Theatre Preservation Association is teaming with the William B. Ogden Library and Christ Church and many other organizations. There will be a Cake Walk, lemonade stand, a watermelon eating contest, children’s games, sandwiches, salads and bottled water, kettle corn, a scavenger hunt, a pie auction, and root beer floats.

There will also be live music from the Community Band and the TS Select Chorus at the Theatre, plus a roving minstrel. There will be a birthday cake for William B. Ogden for everyone to share, and a poetry reading at 1pm. The documentary film about the Delaware County Fair by Chris Quereau will be shown for free at the theatre at 1:30 pm.

The old-fashioned event is part of the ongoing Walton Theatre’s 100th birthday celebration. Attendees should feel free to dress in old time clothing and, being that it is Flag Day, be ready to hear some patriotic songs.
