Heroin addiction has been a growing concern in America for quite some time and now there's an opportunity to see a locally-produced documentary called "Smacked! Heroin Addiction & Recovery in Rural America" in Oneonta on Thursday, December 6, from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at FoxCare Center (in Classroom 1).

According to This hour-long film takes an intimate look at the addiction crisis in central New York and beyond and contains three parts: testimonials from those who suffer from addiction, with survivor stories; insight from law enforcement regarding their struggle to manage illicit drugs in local towns; and reflections from health care providers on how medicine has both contributed to the issue and is working to help afflicted individuals. The film will be followed by a panel discussion.

Admission is free and refreshments will be provided.  Viewer discretion is advised due to strong language and graphic images.
