Nearly 22,000 drivers were ticketed during Speed Week in New YorkGovernor Cuomo’s office says during the week of June 7 through June 13 state troopers handed out almost 9500 speeding tickets, made close to 270 DUI arrests and busted around 700 drivers for being distracted behind the wheel.

In a statement Cuomo said he applauds the State Police and their partners in law enforcement for keeping dangerous drivers accountable and for their continued commitment to making streets safer.
