The New York State Department of Transportation has announced that the “I Love NY” signs will be removed. The federal government ordered the signs to be taken down because they were deemed as a traffic hazard and last week docked New York $14 million in road funding until the signs are removed. Transportation department officials say the signs will be removed and replaced before the September 30th deadline set by the federal government. If the state meets that deadline, the feds say they will reinstate the road funding.
