The New York State Police at Oneonta responded to a report of a robbery at the Mirabito Quickway on County Route 48 in Otego at approximately 4:40 this morning.

A man, later determined to be Ryan Kennedy, 29, of Unadilla, is alleged to have entered the store armed with what appeared to be a black pistol, then fleeing in a pick up truck after stealing gasoline, cigarettes, beer, and snack items.

State Police in Richfield Springs saw the vehicle a short time later on State Route 205 in the town of Hartwick and attempted to stop it. Kennedy failed to stop and a pursuit began. The chase ended when his vehicle became disabled.

Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen in Unadilla. Found in the truck were two black pellet guns along with the items stolen in the robbery.

Kennedy was taken into custody without further incident and charged with robbery, grand larceny, aggravated felony DWI, and various other traffic charges. He was processed at the State Police barracks in Oneonta where his blood alcohol content was said to be .19%.

Kennedy was arraigned in the Town of Otsego and remanded to Otsego County Jail.

State Police were assisted by the Cooperstown Police Department during the pursuit.
