A forest ranger discovered more than 20 stolen political signs dumped on state-owned land in Delaware County.

Authorities say the signs were found in the Steam Mill Forest in the Town of Masonville last week.

According to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, one person has been arrested as part of an investigation into the theft of campaign signs.

20-year-old Jarett Griffin of Walton was charged with petit larceny in connection with a sign theft during the first week of October.

Sheriff Craig DuMond said the arrest followed a review of a video recording from a surveillance camera.

DuMond said the stolen campaign sign was for a candidate in a race for highway superintendent.

The sheriff said the sign theft may have been linked to a personal grudge.
