The Binghamton Rumble Ponies have announced that the 2020 Eastern League All-Star that was scheduled to be played at NYSEG Stadium on Wednesday, July 15 has been cancelled.  In addition the 2020 Home Run Derby that was set for the previous day, July 14 has also been cancelled.

Rumble Ponies' officials in a press release stated that the delay in the start of the 2020 Regular Season due to COVID-19 caused the All-Star game to be canceled.  Team President and owner John Hughes in the release said "This is a very unfortunate casualty of the COVID-19 virus.  I know how much went into this from our community.  The fans, elected officials and team went all out to put our best foot forward. We are now shifting our focus to providing a safe and memorable experience for this community and look forward to our 2020 opening day."

Rumble Ponies'officials say that fans who purchased tickets for the Eastern League All-Star Game and Home Run Derby can exchange those tickets for 2020 Regular Season tickets of equal or lesser value.  Refunds can be obtained from the Binghamton Rumble Ponies when NYSEG Stadium re-opens.

At this time no further information pertaining to whether or not the Eastern League would schedule the 2021 game in Binghamton. Complicating any re-scheduling is the issue of Major League Baseball working out a new agreement with Minor League Baseball plus implications from that including future affiliations of teams like Binghamton with Big League ball clubs.
