A 39-year-old upstate New York man who was convicted of killing his wife is now facing a bribery charge. The Chenango County Sheriff's office tells local media outlets that Ganesh Ramsaran offered a deputy $100,000 to help him escape from the county jail. Ramsaran was arrested on the bribery charge Tuesday evening. He was arraigned in Norwich Town Court and sent back to jail on $1 million bail. Ramsaran was convicted in September of the 2012 murder of his wife, whose body was found in a rural field three months after he reported her missing. He's scheduled to be sentenced for second-degree murder on Dec. 1.
