A message from the Delaware County Public Health Department

Delaware County Public Health received two laboratory confirmed positive COVID-19 reports. One of today’s positive reports is a close contact to a previously confirmed positive and had been quarantined prior to becoming symptomatic. The total of laboratory confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Delaware County is nine (9).

The investigations are ongoing and all contacts are being notified and quarantined. The first individual to test positive is fully recovered and no longer in isolation. Four (4) cases are recovering safely while isolating at home in Delaware County. Currently four (4) cases are isolated and receiving medical care in a hospital.

Totals: There are 9 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County. There are 19 people under mandatory quarantine and 5 people under precautionary quarantine. There have been 125 people tested; 14 with tests pending; and 100 negative results. Delaware County Public Health Services in partnership with the New York State Department of Health, local hospitals and healthcare providers is actively investigating these cases and providing guidance on reducing the spread (i.e., quarantine, cleaning and other recommendations) as appropriate.
