Derek Jeter Won’t Be Honored In Cooperstown Via Zoom Or Skype

The National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown is weighing its options for the 2020 induction ceremony according to an article on www.nyup.com.

The one thing they have ruled out is nobody's getting inducted by a virtual ceremony online. Currently, the induction ceremony weekend is scheduled for July 24th-27th, but that will probably change.

The board of directors for the National Baseball Hall of Fame is meeting next week to discuss options, including postponing the ceremony or even just going ahead with what's planned.

Since a record crowd is expected, according to the Observer-Dispatch, because of Derek Jeter being in this year's class some kind of social distancing and limiting would have to happen for this year's ceremony.

In the meantime, you could always grab bobbleheads of the inductees and have a little ceremony while you're quarantined at home. Seriously, nobody would think that's weird at all.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame has been closed since mid-March, but they have offered virtual tours online at baseballhall.org.
