Joey Yambor was looking for a project to complete his Eagle Scout year. After originally looking to plant trees in the village, he was advised by Walton Director of Parks and Recreation, Brian Sprague, that a greater need was benches to place on Delaware Street.

Yambor began to make it happen last Autumn by hosting a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser to raise money to finance his project. The goal of having the 6 benches in place by Spring, when they were unveiled last week.

The original sidewalk benches were washed away in 2006 during the flood that ravaged the main street. Yambor thanked BOCES for doing the welding work for the Aluminum that supports the structures, which have a comfortable wood seating. There are 6 new benches, 6 feet in  length, to comfortably sit 3 people at a time. They are located along the street.

Yambor said the comments to the new benches has been very favorable. They are located in front of Molto Espresso, Foo Chow, and Grandma D's Restaurants. Also at the store front of H&R Block, and two are located at the Veterans Plaza in Walton
