According to a New York State Police press release, the investigation and search for two escaped inmates from the Clinton Correctional Facility continues.  Leads continue to be generated along the Clinton and Essex County border with members of law enforcement concentrating their efforts in that area, going door to door in and around the surrounding area and checking homes and seasonal residences.

The State Police have deployed all available assets in an effort to ensure the safety of the public.  At this time, more than 440 corrections and law enforcement officers are involved in the region.  In addition to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, the FBI, U.S. Marshals and U.S. Customs and Border Protection are also assisting the State Police.

Several employees, both uniform and civilian of the Clinton Correctional Facility have been interviewed in the investigation, but no arrests have been made.
