First Night Oneonta is a celebration that you definitely do not want to miss! It is celebrated in over 200 cities worldwide, and is a great and affordable way to celebrate the New Year with the whole family. The night begins at the Foothills Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. There are endless performances from the many musical talents such as, Woody Pines Swing Band, Chris Wolf-Gould Jazz Band and more. Also performing will be Bubblemania, Catskill Puppet Theater, Brian Miller Magic, Jillian Dance Arts, and that’s not even the half of it! Families can participate in swing dance lessons, balloon twisting, and photo shoots with the Hill City Ice Queen. There will also be games and activities just for the little ones. First Night admission buttons are just $10 for adults, and children 12 and under are free.

Around 10 p.m. the sky will be filled with amazing First Night’s Fabulous Fireworks. Then admission is free to anyone that wants to continue the fun at the New Year’s Dance Party in the Foothills Atrium until the clock strikes midnight! At the Dance Party, there will be plenty of pizza, fire spinners, and the best DJs in town. First Night’s New Year’s celebration is a perfect way to bring together family and friends in a fun and festive environment.

Volunteers are also needed. Anyone who volunteers will receive a First Night button for free! Buttons can also be purchased online.
