Well well we all know who Mario, Zelda and Pikachu are...(hopefully)

But have you ever heard of any of these games? If the answer is no...you should probably check them out. They're worth your time.

Well...Here they are in no specific order.

#1 -Trace Memory (Nintendo DS)

I absolutely LOVE this game. I literally played it nonstop (minus eating and schoolwork and whatnot) Until i completed it. It tells the story of your fathers murder and you venture out to help solve the mystery after receiving a mysterious package in the mail containing an "odd machine" which ironically resembles  a first generation Nintendo DS. In addition to doing this you must also interact with a ghost nicknamed "D" and help this ghost identify their past, why they died, and who they even are. Sadly, They don't sell it in stores anymore to my knowledge (unless you're checking someplace like gamestop for a used copy). They do, however, have it online on multiple websites.

It's an extremely interactive game that uses every possible interactive interface of the Nintendo DS available, It really pulls you in and gives you a first hand experience to the story...almost as if you where living it yourself.

#2- Earthbound (SNES)

You're more likley to have heard about this one than any of the others listed.  The game is basically about aliens invading. Earthbound wields mostly the elements of your usual RPG. However, It's super quirky and out of the norm for most people....in a good way. It's a really fun game.

#3 - Crystalis (NES)

I have never met anyone who has ever played this game. EVER.  This is one of the first games i ever played and it is absolutely amazing. Back when it came out it was just your stereotypical RPG, now I would consider it to have a rather unique plot. The game circles around a man who wakes up after an extremley long sleep after a nuclear war. He is unable to remember anything about his identity, however he believes he might be the one thing that can cease the destruction of the world...

#4- Luminous Arc (Nintendo DS)

Description of the game from Atlus Games.

One thousand years ago, dragons and Witches warred against God for the fate of the world. God's power was triumphant, but it was a difficult struggle, and the deity sent Himself into a deep sleep to recover from the terrible wounds he suffered in the battle. Ten years ago, the Church has proclaimed that a great event will soon occur: God will be reborn, and the world will be led into a new golden age under His guidance. However, the witches are also fated to return, and the world is doomed to conflict once again. Take control of the Garden Children, a group of fighters and mages trained since childhood and dedicated to eradicating the Witch threat, and discover the mysteries behind their return, their motives, and their history!

This game is one of my favorite DS games out there. It has a wonderful, well thought out plot line and proves to provide plenty of gameplay time.

It also features voiced characters and wonderful graphics. Sadly, It's another one you'd have to buy off the internet...and it is a rather rare game to begin with. It's more than just your standard RPG....and It's really fun! It is comparable to Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the Game Boy Advance.   The gameplay is split into adventure and strategy and IGN has given it a rating of 7.5 out of 10, leaving the game to register on the scale as a "good" game (according to IGN....and me.) It's greatly worth checking out.

#5- The World Ends With You (Nintendo DS)

Chances are you've probably heard about this one too but when it first came out...none of my friends had. Therefore it deserves a spot....

This game is published by the same company as the Final Fantasy series and the Kingdom Hearts series....both of which have absolutely amazing videogames. What I like most about this game is that the art style is very unique, as is the gameplay.
