New York is committing $2.6 million to build or improve 12 playgrounds at 10 State Parks as part of Governor Cuomo’s goal to modernize 100 State Park playgrounds by 2020. One of those is Gilbert Lake State Park in Otsego County where workers will replace and expand the existing playground in the beach picnic area with nature-themed equipment. Construction will take place in the coming months and officials say the playgrounds are expected to be ready for use next summer.
