With a $250,000 grant from Chenango County Economic Development, the village of New Berlin will be able to restore some of the historical buildings on Main Street.

New Berlin Mayor Terry Potter says they are making progress with their plans.

"We're moving forward with the grant, and are extremely excited about the opportunity that we're able to present to the business owners," he said. "Hopefully within the next month or so, we're looking at reviewing some applications and moving forward with some of the projects that are in the making."

Mayor Potter says the restoration will add to the streetscape of the village as people pass through on Route 8, making New Berlin a gateway to Chobani and Golden Artist Colors and the growth of the New Berlin area.
