State Education officials say New York’s high school graduation rate was slightly higher in 2017. The figures released Wednesday show the overall June graduation rate was 80.2 percent, up from 79.7 percent in 2016. Average- and low-need districts continue to have the highest graduation rates, with 94.8 percent of students in low-need districts graduating in four years. The report found that while black, Hispanic and white students all made small gains in the four-year graduation rate there’s a 20 point difference between white students and minorities.
