The state Christmas tree is on its way to Albany from Sharon Springs residents Bruce and Kelly Button. The Times Journal reports the 40-foot high spruce was felled Wednesday at a Lantern Drive home by crews with the state office of general services then loaded onto a flatbed truck for its ride to the state capital. The tree will be decorated and unveiled at the Empire State Plaza Christmas kick-off on December 8.
