Oneonta NYS Troopers Warn of New Phone Scam

State Police are warning about another phone scam. Troopers in Oneonta have received reports of a caller who claims the recipient’s son has been involved in an accident and in order to keep their loved one out of jail, they must obtain immediately obtain Google pre-paid cards and give them the codes. The caller later requests more money.
If you receive a call like this and can’t make contact with the person who is injured or in trouble, call 911.
