The Oneonta City School District buildings capital project comes up for a vote on Tuesday. Interim superintendent David Rowley talks about some of the upgrades involving the maintenance and replacement of equipment.

"We have some air handling and ventilation unites... doors and door frames that we're going to be replacing; wooden stairs at Valley View that need to be replaced with concrete stairs," he said. "There's paving by the high school and a drainage system behind the high school and middle school that I think will solve the drainage problem that's been there for years."

Rowley says the state will cover over 70 percent of the $4.6 million capital project. The local share will be a little over $119,000 a year over 15 years or the equivalent of 6/10 of one percent tax levy increase.

The vote is Tuesday from 12-9 p.m. at the Center Street School for all registered voters in the Oneonta City School District.
