Proposed Oneonta Smoking Ban Closer To Becoming Law
The prohibition on smoking and tobacco use in all Oneonta city parks and Muller Plaza is a step closer to becoming law. On Tuesday the Common Council approved a second reading of the ordinance after there were no protests from the public. The Council received a recommendation for the ban from the City’s Parks and Recreation Commission in September after reviewing similar policies in other communities in New York State. The measure now goes to Mayor Gary Herzig for his signature.
