A ceremony is scheduled to recognize "Bike Friendly Otsego County,” which improved roads and trails for cyclists in the area, at 10 a.m. Monday in Catella Park, Oneonta.

This project has involved the collaboration of four different state agencies, the four major educational institutions in the city and numerous student groups and faculty have contributed. A number of other county organizations and volunteers, private landowners and businesses have been involved as well.

This program was created to benefit the local community, but to also attract a new population of visitors to the area and enhance tourism opportunities.

A mountain bike tour of the Catella Park/New Island Trail will be conducted at the end of the ceremony. Everyone is encouraged to bring their bike Monday and enjoy the ride.
