Riley Green will join Jason Aldean on tour in 2020 — something he says is a dream from way back come true. The "I Wish Grandpa's Never Died" singer and 2019 Taste of Country RISER says he always felt Aldean was about as big as it gets in country music, but he's just as impressed with who his new boss is offstage, too.

“One thing I was really impressed was Jason's always been one of those guys comes up and calls you by name, asks how I'm doing," Green says. "He's got no reason to do that other than he's just a genuine guy."

Green, whose new Different 'Round Here album dropped on Friday (Sept. 20), says he got the call from his booking agent at a time when he was considering a few options. “Things are going really well," he tells Taste of Country Nights, "and I’m excited that we have other offers, but Jason Aldean calls you just go, ‘Yeah.’”

In addition to "I Wish Grandpa's Never Died," the Alabama newcomer has radio singles in "In Love by Now" and his No. 1 hit "There Was This Girl." Green's been hailed for his unwavering dedication to song craft and traditional country music with a progressive bent — kind of like Aldean.

Morgan Wallen will also be a part of the We Back Tour when it begins in January.

Green is currently on the Get That Man a Beer Tour, which goes through Montana and Washington this weekend. As for his new album, don't expect him be in a Walmart line anytime soon.

"This is the only record I can get for free," he quips. "I'm not going to buy that!"
