In response to the success of State Senator Jen Metzger’s Summer ‘19 Hike, Bike, & Kayak Tour, her office is extending the outdoor excursions through autumn in the Hudson Valley and Catskills regions.

The Hike, Bike, & Kayak Tour is a series of free outdoor recreation activities for members of the public at locations around the 42nd Senate District, which includes Sullivan County and portions of Orange, Ulster, and Delaware Counties. Several events begin or conclude with a constituent coffee hour at a local coffee shop or community space.

Seventeen constituents from different parts of the district joined the Senator at last week’s hike at Highland Lakes State Park in Middletown.

“I’m thrilled to see my office’s Hike, Bike & Kayak Tour resonate with constituents throughout the district. Not only are returning attendees joining us in new locations, but turnout is growing,” said Senator Metzger. “As an avid outdoors enthusiast, these events allow me to highlight the glorious scenic and recreational resources in our region and connect with constituents on issues that matter to them.”

The Senator’s next Fall ‘19 Hike, Bike & Kayak Tour outing will take place on Tuesday, October 22, at Elks-Brox Memorial Park in Port Jervis at 3:30 PM. The community hike will be followed by a constituent coffee hour at Foundry42, a Port Jervis coffee shop located at 42 Front Street, at 4:30 PM.
