New music is on the way from Pistol Annies, according to the group's most recognizable member. Miranda Lambert took to her official Twitter account this week to share the news that the 'Takin' Pills' trio is back in the studio working on their sophomore album.

Singer-songwriter Ashley Monroe is stepping into the spotlight spawned by her work with Pistol Annies to shine a little on her own. Hippie Annie, as she's known in the group, is releasing her very first solo album on Warner Music Nashville.

The pop group Train isn't typically considered a cross-over country act, though the lead singer has worked with Martina McBride in the past. Now that they've teamed up with Pistol Annies' Ashley Monroe, they are making some concrete roads through the country genre. This week, the band premiered their music video for 'Bruises' which features Monroe.

The Pistol Annies have already earned a chart-topping debut album, and their single 'Hell on Heels' went gold, selling over 500,000 copies. Now, Miranda Lambert, Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe are on a natural high after getting some top praise from Neil Young in his recently released book, Waging Heavy Peace: A Hippie Dream.
