The Voice Season 17 wrapped up the Battle Rounds on Monday (Oct. 28), which features contestants going head-to-head and also receiving instruction from special guest star mentors as well as coaches Blake SheltonKelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani and John Legend. From there, things moved on to the Knockouts, which featured a very special appearance from a name pretty much everyone on earth knows: Taylor Swift.

Swift showed up to the program as a well-advertised "mega-mentor," designed to give advice to all the contestants, and she rose to the occasion with not a few jokes, plus some recognition for fellow country cousin Shelton.

"I didn't realize that I was now being called a mega-mentor. That's really gonna go straight to my head," Swift drawled, upon her introduction to the episode. "I would like a latte right now. No one? Glass of wine?"

Continuing in the humorous vein, she addressed Shelton directly: "I think out of all the coaches, you're the person that I know the longest," she related. "I actually rediscovered a diary recently, and it was like, 'I met Blake Shelton. He was so nice.' And I was 15."

"Man, that must have been years ago if I was still nice back then," quipped Shelton, to which Swift laughingly responded, "You were probably making fun of me."

All jokes aside, Shelton had kind words for Swift in return: "I think Taylor's perfect because she's experienced everything in front of the world's eyes as far as being a star and being onstage. That's a big deal to all of us coaches and an even bigger deal to the artists on the show."

Indeed, Swift made herself useful on the show, with a particular highlight being Team Kelly's Melinda Rodriguez, whose brother Chris got called in for a heart transplant recently and is Swift's biggest fan (with tattoos to prove it).

"This song definitely goes out to my brother because, to see Taylor there today when he's undergoing heart surgery, I just thought, 'How is this happening?' Chris has to wake up because there is no way I can't tell him about this," Rodriguez related, to which Swift gushed, "Can you tell us an address for where we can send him some gifts?" (Of course!)

We'll be following along each week to keep up with the Season 17 competition, so be sure to check in weekly to check the progress of your favorites on the show.
