According to New York State Police, on May 8, three people were arrested following a report of an abduction but an investigation found that no abduction had ever taken place.

The following is from a New York State Troop C press release...

Anthony M. Davi, age 54 of Davenport, NY was arrested for the class D felony of Reckless Endangerment in the first degree. Cassandra A. Davi, age 19 of Oneonta, NY was charged with the misdemeanor of Falsely Reporting an Incident. Charles O. Hall, age 30 of New Lisbon, NY was arrested for the misdemeanor of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.
An investigation revealed that C. Davi sent a text to her father asking for help while she was in Charles O. Hall's vehicle. Her father, A. Davi called 911 reporting C. Davi had been abducted and went to locate his daughter on his own. A. Davi located Hall's vehicle and shot at the vehicle while on State Highway 23 in the town of Kortright and left with C. Davi.
Troopers located the vehicle that was being driven by Charles O. Hall, where C. Davi was originally reported to be in trouble. They determined that C. Davi was never in need of assistance nor was there an abduction. However, the driver of the vehicle was determined to be impaired and was arrested for DWAI.
Hall was arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Kortright Court on May 21, 2019. A. Davi was arraigned in the town of Davenport Court where he was released on his own recognizance and set to reappear on June 11, 2019. C. Davi was released on appearance tickets to the town of Davenport court returnable on May 14, 2019.
