Town of Stamford Man Evades Police For Three Days

A Town of Stamford suspect in a domestic dispute case managed to evade capture for three days before being found at his home. According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, On Friday evening, an intoxicated William A. Joosse gave what was described as unwanted physical contact to a victim and broke the person's phone, cutting them off from a 911 dispatcher. This took place while a child under the age of seventeen was present. Joosse fled the scene before deputies arrived and they were unable to locate him until Monday when he returned to his home after being in the New York City area.

Joosse was arrested and charged with one felony count of criminal mischief in the third degree, two counts of criminal mischief in the fourth degree for preventing the victim from making a call for emergency assistance, one count of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of harassment in the second degree for subjecting the victim to unwanted physical contact. Joosse was released on his own recognizance pending his re-appearance in Town of Stamford court at a later date.
