Travis Denning has spent much of 2018 on the road with Justin Moore and Chase Rice. The "David Ashley Parker from Powder Springs" singer says he's learned some things along the way, as both Moore and Rice have shared advice on how to survive the grueling tour life.

Denning kicked off the year on the road with Rice, and says he had a blast. "I can't say enough about Chase," Denning tells Taste of Country Nights host Sam Alex. "He's just a great guy. He cut one of my songs called 'Everybody We Know Does' and we met through that, hit it off."

When he started feeling under the weather, however, he decided to reach out to Rice.

He adds, "He had some voice problems a couple years ago, and I was going through a little thing where I was feeling tired all the time and my voice. I texted him and said, 'What did you do?' He said, 'I didn't party every night and I didn't go out and I drank a lot of water.' It was a no-brainer. I learned from him how to handle and how to combat the road, and how it can beat you up."

Once Rice's tour wrapped, Denning joined Moore for his Hell On a Highway Tour. The two artists first met through their producer, and Moore cut some of Denning's songs for his last record, 2016's Kinda Don't Care.

"Justin Moore has had my back for almost the whole time that I've been in Nashville," Denning marvels. "He has been the most supportive guy ever. I watched his show every night. He knows his audience and he demands the attention. He's so good. He does it so flawlessly. He's a professor up there."

Denning has learned a great deal from watching Moore and Rice's show night after night, and now he's seeing the impact his debut single is having with audiences. He's currently working on his debut album, and says recording and writing has been a fun process. He decided to launch the project with "David Ashley Parker from Powder Springs" and says the feedback from country fans has been overwhelmingly positive.

"That song, it's a very unique song from the title. In my heart, I always knew it would be my first single," he admits. "It's so cool that it's out now and I get to hear people's stories of who they were with their fake ID and the nostalgia and how it takes them back. That's why I wrote it."
