With students heading back to college, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that New York State is launching a crackdown on underage drinking on college campuses and in college towns.

It’s a combined effort between the State Liquor Authority, the Department of Motor Vehicles and local law enforcement who will be checking places that hold liquor licenses to make sure they’re not serving alcohol to those under legal drinking age.

Past campaigns resulted in nearly 1,000 fake IDs confiscated and more than 900 people under 21 arrested for trying to buy alcohol.
