The board of the Friends of the Oneonta Theatre and Oneonta Theatre owner Tom Cormier will host a public meeting to discuss the future of the historic building from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.

The building, which has been closed since before the holiday season, was nearly closed for good before Friends of the Oneonta Theatre agreed to run it as a non-profit.

"The operation as a non-profit is an important one," Oneonta Theatre president Patrice Macaluso said. "I think it bodes well for the future of the theatre. We've had a lot of people ask us a lot of questions about what would happen, so we want to share with you what we have so far and the kinds of partners we have to help us get there."

Owner Tom Cormier added: "We will be discussing the future of the theatre and responding to people's questions as to how they can help out and where the future lies. Come in, get your questions answered, share ideas and let's talk about it."

The meeting is free and open to the public and will begin at 2 pm. Tours of the theatre will be conducted from 3-4 pm.
